Privacy Policy
Last updated 14 September 2026
This policy explains what information Surgite collects when you use the Surgite app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. [CHECK: have this draft reviewed before publishing]
Who we are
Surgite (“Surgite”, “we”, “us”) makes the Surgite GPS alarm app. [CHECK: legal name and address of the company or person responsible] You can reach us at support@surgiteapp.com.
Information we collect
- Location. Surgite uses your phone's precise location to show where you are, draw your route and measure how close you are to your destination. While an alarm is armed, this continues in the background, including when the app is closed or the screen is off. That is the only way the alarm can go off on time.
- Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile picture Google shares with us.
- Trips and places. Saved places, destinations, trip times, distances and the stats built from them, so they are available on any device you sign in on.
- Purchases. Premium subscriptions are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We receive your subscription status, never your payment card details.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address and any survey answers you choose to give (whether you use a similar app, your country, and your feedback). We also note how you found us, such as the campaign link or website that sent you, and whether you signed up on a phone or a computer.
- How you use this website. Pages and sections you view, buttons you tap, how far you scroll, and general details about your browser and device. See Cookies and analytics below.
- Diagnostics. [CHECK: crash reporting or analytics tools the app uses, if any]
How we use it
- To track your trip and wake you up before your stop.
- To keep your saved places, stats and trip history in your account.
- To provide Premium features you have paid for.
- To answer support requests and tell waitlist members when Surgite launches in their region.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your location for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Surgite, under agreements that limit how they may use it. [CHECK: list providers, e.g. hosting and database, the maps provider, Netlify for this website and its forms, PostHog for website analytics, Google sign-in] We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses PostHog to understand how visitors use it, so we can improve it. By default it runs without cookies: each visit is counted anonymously and nothing is stored on your device to recognise you later.
If you choose Allow in the cookie prompt, PostHog also sets cookies so it can recognise return visits, and records anonymised replays of your visit with anything you type hidden. If you join the waitlist after allowing cookies, your visit is linked to your email address. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the page. [CHECK: turn on “Discard client IP data” in PostHog project settings, or say here that IP addresses are processed]
How long we keep it
We keep account data, trips and places for as long as your account is open. Waitlist entries are kept until launch in your region or until you ask us to remove them. [CHECK: retention periods]
Your choices
- You can turn off location or notification access in your phone settings at any time. The alarm needs both to work.
- You can delete your account and its data [CHECK: where in the app], or by emailing support@surgiteapp.com.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it.
Children
Surgite is not directed at children under [CHECK: 13 or 16, depending on where you operate], and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
